This post is a great summary of things I've had to play 20 questions with any willing Capt I've flown with over the last 1.5 years to find out. If there is a MEC guide, it has not been distributed - trust me it would have saved me a lot of trouble and probably made those Captains a bit happier. If they do create a guide, it should be distributed to all pilots.
Another option is to visit the DALPA site. Lots of great information there.
