"In the end, I believe the Southwest merger with AirTran is a win-win for all involved except junior Southwest pilots. I learned a lot during this project, like Southwest pilots believe that AirTran pilots are recieving an unfair windfall from this merger, that Delta pilots don't like Southwest pilots and that Delta pilots turn every thread into quasi porn.

Sandrich."

I'm writing a paper on the AirTran merger with Southwest. I'm simply asking if anyone would have any good resources to provide or check out.
AirTran is not in bankrupt, they are a viable company. They are also not merging with SWA. SWA is acquiring (purchasing) AirTran.

I think that if you pursued a capacity purchase agreement you could realize long term savings in maintenance obligations.

A capacity purchase agreement would be so much wiser than a code share agreement, that's for sure, but losing operational control would be a cause for concern.

Do capacity purchase agreements have scope language? How about language for minimum guarantees, lodging, deadheading, hours of service, section 15 on physical examinations and section 22 - filing of vacancies?

Oh and section 28 - duration?

Sure you save, but so much is left to chance.

I'll settle for a short-term wet lease.

The airframe might have damage due to so many "touch and go's."
