I think the 737 coming to Mesa is going to help out the whole industry. It’s nothing new that we have paved the way for not only the regional airlines but the all US carriers. We were the first operators of the CRJ 900 and and were the first Regional to use iPads. Now we’re upgrading our fleet to include state of the art 737 aircraft. We have tipped the pay scales by offering Great rates for the aircraft flown. A lot of our pilots are senior and turned down jobs at major airlines to stay at Mesa and cultivate the corporate culture we have today that distinguishes us far ahead of our peers. It’s good these guys will be rewarded with not only pay rates but with the option to fly some heavy metal. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I see us eventually expanding to 767’s and becoming a strong competitor in the cargo world.

Those slots are going to be awarded to guys that have been here for 20+ years. ALPA national approved it.

At the end of the day it’s super senior people who are a large portion of the union leadership flying the 734’s for Mesa.

In other news... AH will move onto leadership in the company just as KW did. It’s the blueprint of how you succeed when you are in an ALPA Union.

All I hope is they don’t put one into a mountain after flying CRJ’s for 15,000 hrs on hub turns. I don’t want the company to shut down and lose my job.

No mountains from CVG-Des Monies. But plenty of all night flying. FYI. Stay away from the chicken soup at the DHL. Enjoy the sleep apnea room-

BTW- the freight is always late. No need to rush out the yellow short bus.

There aren’t any 767’s to be had. Conversions slots are all taken. Let’s try and get ETOPS on the 737 first- before 180 on the 767 to Hawaii. Best of luck- this should be fun to watch.

I’m surprised cargo contracts took this long to make the jump to regionals.

True enough, but not really worth it to only run two. It's either more or close the shop.

Lol I give them “senior 20+ years pilots” 2 weeks doing hub turns at 3am then flip flopping their schedule to be with their family and not getting any sleep vs having a nice cushy line before they wanna go back.

They didn’t turn down jobs at the majors. 1 of 2 outcomes were they didn’t apply or couldn’t get in. Take your pick. It’s not about being “better“, it’s about making more money and having a better QOL.

no doubt. It’s absolutely awful. Words can’t describe- you have to experience it. Oh, then JS home.

Haha... What, I don’t get a cushy cherry picked schedule? How does reserve work? Haha, good news is the reserve language will likely get better next January after they sit a little bit of it themselves.
