Second year pay.

Hi guys,

First year looks decent with the big bonus, but what about 2nd year pay? no bonuses.
I know there's always, or often, 200/300% pay, so if willing to work hard, how much could I expect? being conservative.
Hopefully after 1.5 years, one can upgrade, and at that point, how much can you expect as a fresh upgraded CA?.
Just doing the math with my finances.

I upgraded exactly at a year after reaching 1,000 hrs... 2nd year pay is looking slightly lower than first year but just for a couple thousand bucks. The pay bump kind of makes up for the bonus of the first year.

Expect min credit or slightly above because you will be in reserve for several months (except DFW I think) and min days off leaving you with very little chance to pick up open time.

Even on reserve if you bid correctly and your goal is picking up open time at 300% - you can do it. I credited 130 one month and I'm on pace to credit 150 this month.

That depends on your seniority. Some upgrade when they can hold a line. Some before. No Jr Ca Domicile. You can upgrade where you want. Biggest need right now is CRJ fo. But if today is any indication we won’t satisfy AA on the contracts.

Meaning what? Rookie here sorry. Can you guys lose AA contract then?.
When is the next CRJ class for FOs?

There’s a class every two weeks. We CAN lose 6 planes from the CPA in September if we don’t meet performance goals and we aren’t.

APC says Mesa has 64 -900s. Assuming those are all for Eagle flying, am I right to interpret the above as meaning American can pull ~9 percent of their CRJs from Mesa in September for operational nonperformance?

When does the American contract as a whole expire?

No, Mesa can elect to pull them from the CPA to use as operational spares. American has no say in it. The cpa, at least from what I’ve seen pretty much says this, “if the company fails to meet the goals in two consecutive months, then the company (notice this is the second time that the company has been used and hasn’t been qualified as being a different company) may elect to remove 6 aircraft from the cpa” it never differentiates that American removes them, in fact it seams pretty clear that if they were removed that it would be Mesa that did it. But that’s just my take on the lawyerese that I thought I saw. Who knows I may not have even seen the actual CPA.

I agree that is the language published and it is “ up to” 6. The CPA goes to 2023 on some planes. All 900 are flown on the AA side or for charter.
