Google searches show that's about average for a used e175 with their time on the frame. You can even buy an E190 for the same price but slightly more time on it with that price.

But does this mean that UA can take those 18 EJets and give them to someone else, like CommuteAir?

Yup. United owns the aircraft, they can contract them out to whoever they want to fly them.

Now a lot of folks from Mesa are talking about a Republic & Mesa merger. I highly doubt that even happens but I guess only time will tell. Since United basically owns all of Mesa's ERJ's, I don't see why they wouldn't lease them to republic or other regionals instead of Republic merging with Mesa.

this is true, but will they take it away from OO? I seen it from expressjet, when they lost the contract.
