Have you seen the new reserve LOA? I don't have access to it, but if someone would post it, you can clearly see how they sold the Mesa pilot group down the river.

I see. The problem is that pimping is a form of employing. You said "conspired to throw pilots out of work" which is the opposite of employing. You see how this can be confusing.

On another note, I don't think "PBS caused furloughs". However, when the furloughs did come, the company was able to furlough more pilots. Maybe a case of semantics. In either case, as has been pointed out in several posts above, PBS allows the company to run with lower crew ratios. Getting rid of PBS would necessitate a higher crew ratio... or so it is commonly believed. Now you can apply this variable to the furlough situation.

They did this with the contract we have now. Fact is JO and his boys blew through $300,000,000+ in 3 years. that was $ in the bank.

There are a lot of bad things happening. It is understandable that people are angry and scared. I have seen no evidence that the MEC is deliberately trying to screw us up. I think they are in a very tough spot. Have they made mistakes? Probably. Have they deliberately messed us up? I do not believe so. I do not see any reason why they would choose to.

These days I am sure they are faced with many tough calls. We want them to ride to our rescue on white horses. Sadly, they cannot always do so. There is always someone sure to feel personally wronged by one MEC decision or another.
Do you read the MAG communications.
They clearly said PBS LOA or PBS Vote. After multiple deadline extensions They did "Roll" on us and re niged. Now we are stuck with PBS. Everyone will be flying 90+ and min days off after being Un-Stacked every month. We have ZERO leverage to get a LOA now. PBS may not have caused this round of furloughs but come next year when they really let loose with PBS there will be another round.

Or maybe senior MAG ALPA leadeship has a very, very long track record of selling out the bottom 80% of the list in order to gain a few perks for themselves.

PBS is a sweet deal for the top 10-20%...I have seen more of MAG history than you, and that's what I think is going on.

I really don't think this is some altruistic scheme to keep more pilots on property

the problem is, it has to be voted on by the pilots. the MEC cant just take it away.
how much does a Vote cost?
They shoulda sent it out just to use as leverage.

Oooops. I misread their last letter. I thought they said they didn't need a pilot vote to scrap PBS.

Yes, you should be mad as hell at the MEC.

Keep in mind that many of the reps are fielding calls all the time and doing many things on days off with no financial incentive.
Like we did? And look where we are. Still citing why the company can do whatever the whim of the day is without actually putting a stop to what we feel is wrong.

Worthless organization. MEC, National, Local, you name it.

It is exactly what happens and Mesa is no different than any other regional. IE ASA, soon to be SkyEast.
