I see. The problem is that pimping is a form of employing. You said "conspired to throw pilots out of work" which is the opposite of employing. You see how this can be confusing.
On another note, I don't think "PBS caused furloughs". However, when the furloughs did come, the company was able to furlough more pilots. Maybe a case of semantics. In either case, as has been pointed out in several posts above, PBS allows the company to run with lower crew ratios. Getting rid of PBS would necessitate a higher crew ratio... or so it is commonly believed. Now you can apply this variable to the furlough situation.

True, not in so many words. But there are those who use terms like "roll over" and "sold out" a lot.
There are a lot of bad things happening. It is understandable that people are angry and scared. I have seen no evidence that the MEC is deliberately trying to screw us up. I think they are in a very tough spot. Have they made mistakes? Probably. Have they deliberately messed us up? I do not believe so. I do not see any reason why they would choose to.
These days I am sure they are faced with many tough calls. We want them to ride to our rescue on white horses. Sadly, they cannot always do so. There is always someone sure to feel personally wronged by one MEC decision or another.

They clearly said PBS LOA or PBS Vote. After multiple deadline extensions They did "Roll" on us and re niged. Now we are stuck with PBS. Everyone will be flying 90+ and min days off after being Un-Stacked every month. We have ZERO leverage to get a LOA now. PBS may not have caused this round of furloughs but come next year when they really let loose with PBS there will be another round.

PBS is a sweet deal for the top 10-20%...I have seen more of MAG history than you, and that's what I think is going on.
I really don't think this is some altruistic scheme to keep more pilots on property

Or maybe senior MAG ALPA leadeship has a very, very long track record of selling out the bottom 80% of the list in order to gain a few perks for themselves.

If your reps aren't representing you ask for their resignations. Find out who are the "problems" on your MEC (many times it's only a few bad apples) and if they don't resign recall them. I can tell you that the LEC reps (line flying pilots) really DON'T make extra money doing the gig, some can try and milk it but at the regional LEC level I don't know of a single regional that has a high paying flight pay loss policy or budget. Keep in mind that many of the reps are fielding calls all the time and doing many things on days off with no financial incentive.
Worthless organization. MEC, National, Local, you name it.
