I feel for all of the employees and especially pilots at Mesa. That being said, Johnathon has had this coming for a very long time. I flew for WestAir back in the 80's and 90's and often had the boy wonder on my flights between SNA and FAT. Johnathon worked his way up the ranks, organized the merger with Mesa and the eventual shutdown of WestAir. WestAir had been one of the preferred regionals at the time employing hundreds of pilots and flying everything from BAE146's to Jetstreams with domiciles from Dulles to LAX thru WestAir, ACA and NPA airlines.

Here is what everyone is thinking...
"Boy, I hope DAL, UAL, Airways is going to take away the Mesa flying, so my crappy regional can pick up their flying. Awesome". |
That is not in my mind!!!!! Alot of people I know fly for MAG and I feel for them. As with all of us, we choose, and sometimes those choices turn out to be incorrect. These people know this.

"Boy, I hope DAL, UAL, Airways is going to take away the Mesa flying, so my crappy regional can pick up their flying. Awesome". My crappy regional already turned down a bunch of mesa flying, so I think we're still just as hosed as we were before... |
I would really like to see MAG stay around, but with a different managment that was more concerned about it's cutomer product and less about doing whatever it takes to screw it's employees and; to make a buck.
