It's just amazing how many people that guy had riding on his bandwagon, he's a very good snake oil salesman. JO has got to be the worst airline CEO ever. You really need to be very special to bring a 150 AC regional to bankruptcy with possibly 2/3 of the fleet gone in only about 2 years.

He's suckered in boatload after boatload [edit: humans] to jump on the ship he was steering and break their butts for him, tolerating a stunning level of disrespect, yet still rowing with everything they had until they collapsed.
He got rich and they got the shaft.
His only downfall is that this cannot continue in perpituity and he's currently orchestrating his schemes to insure he milks every last buck for himself with the wreckage of his dupes swilling in the bilge until the ship rolls over and burbles down to Davy Jones' locker. The captain already has a nice raft that seats only a few and has insured a nice welcoming party landho for his escape. The fat chest of gold will be secure and retirement in style assured.
As other ships sail by the tragedy, a bell will be rung in the honor of those that went down with the Mesa, but not in honor of its corrupt captain who waves from shore concerning himself only with the choice of lobster or cracked crab.
And so it is................

The loss of the DAL flying was inevitable and since UAL may have new abilities to trim excess regional flying, my guess is that flying might be next. I'm curious as to the loss of jobs and if those pilots senior flying for DAL can bump more junior at other Mesa operations. In fact, I wonder if winglet himself will remain a captain (if he is one) and if not, will he continue to hold on with fingers crossed or seek a future elsewhere ?
At any rate, it's another glaring example of a future almost assuredly extremely limited.
