An internal company letter from MF, stating that ~500 recall letters were mailed via Fedex.

My guess is that only 1/3 of the 500 furloughs will accept the recall, i.e. approximately 170. I don't see near-term attrition increasing by more than 15/month for a while, as many of the more aggressive and competitive have already left over the previous 6 months. So again a very rough approximation @ 15/month would have everyone offered recall by the end of 2011.

Welcome back, now you can relieve me from my involuntarily displaced domicile on this Christ forsaken atoll in the Pacific. ;)

Are you guys serious or just joking? That'd be letters to ALL the furloughs...

Friends/Crewmembers:

An FYI: Yesterday afternoon at 1800 we FEDEXed recall letters to our furloughed pilot associates for 16 training slots available in January and February. There will be classes for 4 recall D8 FO’s and 12 recall CRJ FO’s.

We over nighted the recall letters to all 460 plus furloughed pilots. The package contained the procedures outlined in Section 17 of the CBA, a Q and A, document, and a recall return preference form. The basic methodology is these 16 training slots will be filled by the most senior 16 furloughed pilots accepting recall to the Jan and Feb training classes. I’m sure we will not get through the entire list to get the 16 slots filled but the return document also has a provision to advise us if an individual has found a new job and does not intend to return or has other plans for the future. Gives us a look at staffing challenges for 2011.

As attrition dictates new training opportunities, additional recall letters will be sent to the group. Note a pilot may “pass/decline” recall opportunities per the 2 scenarios as provided for in Section 17.

Let’s try to spread to word to our furloughed friends who may have moved or relocated and may not have kept us up to date with their latest address that correspondence is on the way.

Thanks,

M

You will assuming your contact information is correct. Again, the letter doesn't mean you'll be coming back to work, but as stated above simply outlines the recall process. Best of luck!

Probably the long course all around, except for the most recent FURs, and especially those getting recalled into the Ocho who were FUR'd from the CRJ/ERJ. Not a SME though.
