Default Mesa Recalls Furloughed Pilots

Just heard the news that Mesa is beginning the recall of furloughed pilots. The next question, as with every recall actually, is how many are going to take it? Regardless, it’s another spark of good news.

Don't know numbers or dates, just that press release went out.

I wonder how long it will take to get down to the furloughs from Dec 5 2009. My guess is still quite a while.

After the furlough I walked straight back into my old job just shy of a 6 figure salary. Now should I go back to Mesa?

Hell yeah, it's flying and it is better than being a desk jockey working 60 hours per week getting paid for 40.

Ahh how I miss the Rock in Columbia.

Hah! Hells YES!

I got stuck there for 4 days last year in that nasty storm that shut down IAD and ORD. 3rd floor of the hotel was one big ass crew party! Good times!

Details details details... best Holiday news this year.

I heard via the "grapevine" that the informal survey had 100% of the folks who answered said they'd come back, but a lot of folks have left for mainline and other places, and a good number have left Aviation for good to seek their fortunes elsewhere. Also, there are folks who were YV furloughees now at Compass, Air Whiskey, Eagle, ASA, and Commutair who are not going to come back any time soon But it's good news nonetheless.

w00t!

great to have you guys back. Hard to leave a desk job. I congratulate leaving and coming back to flying. Nice to see someone who enjoys flying, not ALL about the money. Good luck to all and welcome back soon!

Nope not joking. I can go back to the desk job any time so the risk for me is small if the flying ever gets old. While I was flying I was able to do come contract work and supliment my FO salary. Eventually I'll either continue with the flying career at a mainline job or use my flying combined with my desk job and do a job that utilizes both skills.

Flying is in the blood. I really enjoyed it even at Mesa. The quality of life at Mesa was not nearly as good as the desk job but QoL gets better as you move through the system. If I can handle it at Mesa then I can handle it anywhere and the hope is that it will improve my career prospects in the long run.

If it gets too much for me I'll just go back to the desk job.

Default Deferring Recall

Anyone know the process for deferring the recall? Can I defer it for one month? Two months? Or am I going to have to wait until they go down the whole list until I can go back? Please dont tell me "READ YOUR CONTRACT!" Cause I have, and it doesnt explain it!
