Mesa Recalls Furloughed Pilots
#11
Nope not joking. I can go back to the desk job any time so the risk for me is small if the flying ever gets old. While I was flying I was able to do come contract work and supliment my FO salary. Eventually I'll either continue with the flying career at a mainline job or use my flying combined with my desk job and do a job that utilizes both skills.
Flying is in the blood. I really enjoyed it even at Mesa. The quality of life at Mesa was not nearly as good as the desk job but QoL gets better as you move through the system. If I can handle it at Mesa then I can handle it anywhere and the hope is that it will improve my career prospects in the long run.
If it gets too much for me I'll just go back to the desk job.

Call one of them ALPA boys. I'm pretty sure they were involved in some of the discussions on how the recalls would go down and what the rules will be for deferral.

I would also like to see a press release or company/ALPA email or something that actually proves all the rumors I've heard in the last few weeks. Also what kind of time frame we're looking at to get that phone call?
I gotta say if everything I've been hearing is fact, then I'm stoked that I'll be flying again!

You're right. I like to get compensated for what I consider work. I won't do it for free... I do not belong in an industry like that.
You can have it. Congratulations on your recall.

You can have it. Congratulations on your recall. I hope your parents basement is nice and comfy. That's where you are going to be living for a long time.
P.S. I have not, nor will I ever work for a known felon. You?

Also, my financial status is my business..but I won't be living in my folks basement, attic or anywhere else. I also won't get to fly my two aircraft much either, which sucks.
As far as if you work for free... if you're an airline pilot for pretty much any regional, you're already working for less than your worth. Don't be angry at me or others here that you're stuck because of your past decisions, just accept it and **** or GTFO.
J.O. a Felon? Yep, knew about it. Took the path to better myself when I went to work there. He's using me, I'm using. It's a nice symbiotic relationship. Thanks for looking out for the 1200+ pilots that were there a year ago though.
