Mesa Recalls Furloughed Pilots
#21
Thanks for the congrats... I may or may not go back, we'll see. It all depends on who has the fastest upgrade as I don't plan on using my regional experience for more than 1000 PIC.
Also, my financial status is my business..but I won't be living in my folks basement, attic or anywhere else. I also won't get to fly my two aircraft much either, which sucks.
As far as if you work for free... if you're an airline pilot for pretty much any regional, you're already working for less than your worth. Don't be angry at me or others here that you're stuck because of your past decisions, just accept it and **** or GTFO.
J.O. a Felon? Yep, knew about it. Took the path to better myself when I went to work there. He's using me, I'm using. It's a nice symbiotic relationship. Thanks for looking out for the 1200+ pilots that were there a year ago though.

you can defer until no one is JR to you, or until you've been out for a year

I had the choice when I went to the regionals. Skywest or Mesa. I picked Mesa. I would have had seniority over those furloughed UAL folks that went to skywest for jobs after their management screwed them over too.
I've ridden JS on SW with ex mili guys who have the same attitude that some of y'all do. Would suck making good career decisions and being an FO making $100k a year, wouldn't it? Proof positive that there are some folks who'll never be happy.

You mind if I post your reply to the gents on the UAL/CAL venue? Where were you when the 1900+ United furlough pilots hit the street in 2009? I bet you were sitting high in your CRJ seat relishing on how your plan to better yourself has defined your career. Again, Congratulations.

Yeah, I understand how long I can defer for (per the contract). My question is, if I defer January for example, will I have the choice to come back February/March, or do I miss the recall window for a while? As long as someone JR to me is on property, can I come back at my own leisure? Ideally I'd like to come back after the Dash positions are filled and have the seniority to be based near my home in the CRJ.
