Yeah but NOT at the expense of pilot wages or the quality of the operation. Mesa had the guest pressing costs and some of the lowest wages. That's called losing business because of bad management not so much undercutting.

Not yet. Wait till the cash reserves run out!

So bidding airplanes at such a cheap rate isn't undercutting?

What portion of the equation do pilots have any control over? I'm on my phone, so can't really pull up both company's 10k reports, but I feel pretty confident in saying Skywest has higher crew costs and possibly higher profit margins than Mesa. That's not an attempt to disparage Mesa pilots, just an assertion that mistrust of Skywest pilots is misplaced. If the conference was some sort of strategic planning session among airline executives, then I could understand the concern, but since it was billed as a step toward pilot unity, excluding another pilot group seems self-serving and short-sighted.

I would be curious as well to see what the crew costs are between SKW and MAG!

Did anyone ask the board of SKW (the SKW Union Leaders) what their intentions are and what they are discussing?

You are confusing two things. Management bids and pilots have no say at what rates they bid on. So if management bids too low and the pilots get paid the same, then that's not the pilots underbidding.

Is there even a remote chance you have any proof whatsoever of your absurd claims, or is this just pure fabrication?

Oh my... Are you even in this business ? Have you even been to PHX? Aren't you still waiting to get hired at Commutair?

Skywest swept the carpet right out from under JO's feet in PHX(disclaimer*). It s pretty da*m obvious these days.

Clearly u haven't been hired by Skywest....where's SLATS?

Disclaimer * In no way, shape or form are any of these statements in favor of Mr. Jonathan Ornstein nor MAG Corporate "the Pariah."

Now, I may be a neophyte, but it seems to me that Spirit undercuts all the other short-haul operators, on every contract (seat they sell to a passenger) and yet they pay a pretty decent wage, and have a pretty good contract for lifestyle. They are also making money hand over fist.

When Southwest goes into a market, they underbid their competitors and yet they still pay well, and have (mostly) happy crews.

If Skywest (who own airplanes, rampers, and gates, not just contracts) have figured out how to make a profit where other bottom feeders can't, good for them! And as long as the pilots aren't asked to take a loss, for the growth/pay raises of management, we should really not ***** them out. It is just fine that some of us want ALPA, and some don't. If SKW pilots are happy, and not being told by their "Holt"s that they need to take concessions while management enjoys radical pay hikes, I would say we should learn from them, not denigrate them!

So you're saying you have zero proof then? Just because SkyWest "swept the carpet right out from under JO's feet in PHX", it doesn't mean they "underbid" him... The fact that they consistently show profits year after year indicates they don't "underbid" for flying!
No matter how "da*m obvious" your lack of proof is!
