I need to update the operating system to 10.2 or whatever the new edition is if I want to use an electronic logbook - anyone have issues w/ Jepp charts after updating the operating system or does it work just fine??

"But, what exactly is the hostility toward Mesa?"
I left Mesa last Friday, started Air Wisconsin yesterday.
I had 750 hours in the E175.
My first year pay at Mesa was under $20,000 (no bonus at the time) and NO benefits.
My first 12 months as FO with AW: $91,400. Yes, that includes the difference we were shelling out for health insurance. That number does not include per diem, which is a net increase. No training notes. Guaranteed interview with UA after the transition from AA to UA. Better reputation. No drama between labor and management. Paid for KCM. Paid for iPad...

It will work just fine. When there is a big update to the operating system the app developers push out updates themselves to comply with the new OS updates. Foreflight is good about sending users information on new updates but I don't recall Jepps sending notices on app updates when the new OS comes out. But everything should work fine. Also when a new operating system comes out they tell you what's new and what they are improving before you download the new update. Those app developers are always doing maintenance on their apps to improve performance so i wouldn't worry. As long as all your information is backed up you will be ok. I use Log 10 Pro and haven't had any issues at all ever.

This is largely true, in spite of the fact that the current vetting process is remarkably similar to Mesa's. (Pulse check and ability to dig a mirror.)
