No I was rushed into the hospital last week for massive internal bleeding due to other medical problems and developed a complication that so far is keeping me from using my right hand. I have a follow up monday and a referrel to a neurologist. The dolphin in my avatar has nothing to do with this but they are fun to work with.

Thanks...sure it will. Things could always be worse right?

Then again, quoting the great Calvin (from Calvin and Hobbes), "things could always be a lot better, too." :p |

That's a good way to think about it.

Still, I won't give up on the point that bobloblaw's flight instructor's death is of no lower status than that of the F-16 pilot. They both died doing what they loved, and that is very honorable.

Actually, I don't feel you have the right to speak to me that way, regardless of my age. I'm not as immature as many people my age. I'm not an Xbox fan. Frankly, I don't see how being shot at and getting back alive has anything to do with the price of tea in China.
I make the high honor roll at school, so don't give me this sh** about summer school. And, finally, what do you mean it's not my place to wake these people up? I'm just saying that I believe in the dignity of every human being, and if they don't think the same thing, then I don't know how they could stand serving their nation if they didn't feel who they were fighting for at home was worth defending. Maybe they joined so that they could get into the airlines in the aftermath. Maybe not. The point is, stop acting like I should let ignorance go unnoticed just because I'm 17 years old. I have much more experience in life than many other people my age, and I frankly don't care if you think my opinion doesn't count. After all, an opinion is an opinion is an opinion. Nothing makes one's opinion count more than another's. |
Wtf
I can't believe there are people on this board in a military forum actually arguing with a 17 year old. A 17 year old doesn't even know what he doesn't know and yet they know everything. If he talked like that to you in person, you'd probably kick his @ss and send him home to mother for some lessons in basic manners and common courtesy.

He's got a lot to learn...I was an idiot at 18 too, but i didn't argue with those who already had traveled a road i wanted to. Hopefully in about seven years, maturity should take care of it. He gets a "P" for passion though. He talks like a Zoomie who hasn't been to the Zoo:D.

Hey little fella. Doing what you love is not honorable. Doing something honorable is honorable. Didn't say his friend dying was nothing. Just said we were discussing a man who died whose job was to protect those very rights you and I so freely use. Flying is not honorable. Someone getting shot down for you and I is brave, dutiful, patiriotic, and honorable. Let it rest and so will I.

hon·or(nr) n. 1. High respect, as that shown for special merit; esteem: the honor shown to a Nobel laureate. 2. a. Good name; reputation. b. A source or cause of credit: was an honor to the profession. 3. a. Glory or recognition; distinction. b. A mark, token, or gesture of respect or distinction: the place of honor at the table. c. A military decoration. d. A title conferred for achievement. 4. High rank. 5. The dignity accorded to position: awed by the honor of his office. 6. Great privilege: I have the honor to present the governor. Which of these sounds like a common person pulling his "weight"? Words like this get thrown around too easily...I disagree with your position sir. |
