Turkey drone shoot down double talk…
#1
Raising press conference double talk and ambiguity to a new height (practically to an art form), one poor one star is tossed to the press wolves ill prepared to answer what’s going on when the US is shooting down a weapon system belonging to a NATO ally.

Yawn.
Syria is a hot mess to begin with.
I doubt the drone was squawking IFF or coordinated on whatever passes for an ATO in that theater these days.
I'm surprised we haven't shot down a Turkish F-16 yet.

The issue wasn’t the “hot mess” that is indeed Syria. The issue is sticking a poor one star up in front of a room full of journalists to try to explain how any of it makes sense. Without offending any nominal allies. It’s pretty well impossible to not offend at least one without coming across as a fool.
Especially when your Kurdish and Turkish Allie’s hate one another and you can afford to offend neither. And when BOTH are easily offended.
