Default Switching Assignments @ PIT

I'm headed to Vance this spring to be an instructor. However, I'd prefer to go to Columbus in Mississippi (Alabama + Saban is nearby). My AFPC guy tells me to try and switch once I get to PIT in San Antonio. Has anyone else heard of this ever happening?

Yea, it happens. I've known a couple guys who swapped assignments while at PIT. Only concern to me is you only leave yourself about 3-4 months to find someone who wants to swap. With the size of PIT classes lately, you don't have a ton of people to attempt to swap with. I'd be calling AFPC until they blocked my caller ID. Squeaky wheel gets the grease!

I'd also recommend getting your CC to call AFPC too, they get hung up on less. That sounds something like a brush off to me.

Excellent...I'll try that. I need to figure out how to get a hold of other guys who are slated to go to PIT the same time I am.

Hammer AFPC until they refuse to talk to you.

Damn near impossible to switch UPT bases when I was at PIT ten years ago. I got the brush off, the cold shoulder, you name it...CC calls, personal visits to AFPC assignment Nazis...nothing worked. Guess I should have got my congressman involved. I filed it away in my memory bank which helped make the big decision that much easier eight years later. Amazing how the screw jobs added up. Del Rio sucked by the way.
