Fighter friendly airlines?
Hey fellas just wondering if there are certain airlines that have a reputation for hiring fighter guys and certain ones that tend not to
|
My research/experience all answers: no.
One side note: In one site for UPS it states: "UPS Competitive Qualifications: ... large jet int’l experience..." I know they have fighter pilots working there and if you know one, that would be important. |
No. You have just as good a chance as anyone. As long as you meet the minimums and get an interview....it would be your job to lose.

Plenty of fighter types at UPS. For some complicated issues most of the new hires here have lots of heavy international experience. |
FedEx has lots of military pilots here. Fast movers, heavies, etc. Get your quals and tickets, most importantly network! Have a buddy be your sponsor and get letters of recom. Things have slowed down on the hiring front, be patient.

SWA has plenty of ex mil guys. No anti-fighter bias there.

one word - United

Having the mins and quals make you competitive, not just fighter time. Sorry, mang! Good luck.

Airlines love fighter guys, but the military heavy guys have to keep explaining that you don't have to cr$p yourself on a flight over 4 hrs.:D

As an aside, how do you get a C-130 pilot into the cockpit? Grease his hips, put a twinkie on the dash, and get the F outta the way!! I keed, I keed :p |
