I agree with GRDHound's advice. I have been on two pilot selection boards for my unit. Personality is one of the most important attributes. We are looking for someone who we will deploy with, (and possibly go to war,) so we don't want to hire any tools. Also, if you have ties to the community, that is a plus (e.g. born/raised/family nearby, or a strong desire to live there.)

GPA was one of the least important things I considered in candidates.

BTW, I know that you want to build flight time, but that should be secondary to serving your country. You will be in the military, and that is not to be taken lightly. If building flight time is your first priority, please don't waste everyone's time, and go to a regional instead of the Guard/Reserves. Be honest with yourself about this.

My father was a Marine Corps Drill Instructor for several years. My uncle was an Airborne Ranger up until his death. I was in JROTC in highschool, and Senior ROTC in college up until it was time to commit to being an officer, and since that tract usually wont get me into a flying job, I declined to stay in. If I didnt know what I was getting into, I would be a stupid man. The order of how things are typed, is not/cannot be a clear indicator of how I feel about my country and my desire to serve. Im not bashing you, please dont think I am... I just want to make it clear, I am not just joining to build flight time.

Also: I didnt catch the name of the poster, but they told me to wait awhile (1-2 yrs before applying for a regional job) I fully intend on doing that. I am already employed with American Eagle out of BNA, so Im still building company time and holding my seniority date...

Also X2: I would like to correct an error on my behalf. I am not for sure why I wrote sigma... It is summa cum laude...
