I knew the student, we were friends, went to the same university and in the same ROTC program, one year behind me. He was a real great kid, grew up in australia and had a quirky accent that everyone loved. We even went skiing together and was the kind of guy who everyone wanted to be around. Rest in peace Alec, I'm going to miss you bro.

One of my flight mates was killed in a midair during a solo T-38 form ride when I was at SPS. All this news really sucks. Godspeed to all of them.
