Now if I had to land on a boat afterwards, my answer would change.
I recently saw them both a couple of times and I would have to agree with you.

Funny how loyal we are to our fighters huh? If nothing else - I like two engines.

It shoud be............cool on a poster?

I know I am merely a 'heavy driver" who flew -38s and SOF aircraft and am, merely a tactics dude...but everything I have seen and heard and read regarding the Typhoon is...... it is a great airplane...if it was 1994.

Like I said...even the LM guys were making fun of it.
Actually..what a test pilot (whom I was standing next to during one of the Typhoon demos at Farnborough 2004) said was "Ya know what we call that at Lockheed?................A TARGET!"

Yeah, it would have been a great airplane 15 years ago.

Just like the Raptor would have if it would have been fielded on time.

Hell, the F-15E was a cool airplane 15 years ago, too.

Raptor is a quantum leap from previous fighters...a true 5th Gen Fighter (and arguably the only 5th Gen Fighter)
15E, Block 50/60 Vipers both great jets but 4th Gen
Typhoon/Eurofighter? I dunno, maybe Gen 4.2 or so and I think that's generous. Really, I'd rather have a 15E or a couple of Vipers for the money.

Two fighters....Panavia Tornado also has thrust reversers.
