SJ used to be a TAC base with the 68th Bomb (SAC) wing as a tenant,along with the complimentary Tank Sqdn.
Then the powers that decide such things "consolidated" Tac and SAC and we became STAC...for a year. Didn't work as well as they thought it would.

A bit over the top
Yup, my last post was a bit over the top, especially the last sentence. Not my intent to act high and mighty as I have also participated in the "humor" of his name while being lucky enough to fly those jets with his initials. That's the dangers of posting while jet lagged and drinking beer... My intent should have been to let other readers know that there is in fact a face and a story of a hero behind the funny name. In any case, ExAF, I'm sure you son is a good kid and I'm glad you are teaching him a sense of humor. I'll do one better and teach a sense of humility and buy the next round (and a new box of corn flakes), P.M. me next time you are in Vegas.

I'm having a hard time believing the folks at the top had a clue that one of the others working for them has no clue...she probably just got a better job offer, not because anyone at the top knew/thought she was incompetent. Unless of course it was Gates...he seems to have a pretty good idea of the amount of incompetency in the AF.
