Default Reserves and SGLI

I transitioned over to the CAT E reserves earlier this year. My assignment is points only--so no pay, no deduction for SGLI. I have been told SGLI coverage continues and deductions are when the occaisional man day is paid out.

The AF and the VA have not been helpful definitively answering this question for me. Anybody else have any experience with this issue?

yes. it is true, if you get a man day, expect to have most or all go to sgli coverage. if you don't do mandays, they will deduct what you owe out of payout if it ever used.

You can call the MPF and they should be able to help.
