Navy to ANG process
I was recently selected for pilot in the Air National Guard. I come from the Navy after 10 years of Active Duty as a pilot. I completed the Class II medical (no waivers) and was just wondering how long the paper trail takes before I can be sworn in.
In the Navy, your local Flight Surgeon bottom lined your flight physical. I guess the ANG (AF) Flight Surgeon only "recommends" your medical application. I'm told it goes to some higher ups that actually approve it. Anybody know roughly how long this process is? I don't have any waivers but was wondering if it's a 1-2 day deal or months.
Secondly, once my medical is approved my package needs to go to ANG/AF Headquarters for appointment approval. Is this a long process or quick turn-around?

I had a Class 1 flight physical done in late August and I was told by the Doc at Brooks that once the physical is forwarded to AETC it would take about 2-3 weeks for approval.
That was for an FC1 but I imagine FC2 is even quicker if anything.
