WWII in HD, the Greatest Generation.
I just finished watching WWII in HD which I DVRd while I was away on a trip. As a veteran myself, I salute all those who served in WWII. The Greatest Generation is a title they all deserve.
I still remember the time I was on a tour bus on my way to Paris from Germany on a short leave while I was deployed overseas, I sat next to a WWII veteran as we drove through Belgium. The tour bus stopped at one of the military cemetaries where we walked between rows and rows of white crosses bearing fallen US soldiers' names. He became emotional and told me thousands after thousands of young men my age died on that field. Too young to die, he said. Then he muttered an old military saying I've heard many times, "Young Men die in Old Men's War."
