Default FLETC qts?

For those that are familiar with the training... how long is the training? Do you get any time off, like going home to see your family? Lastly, how much and how often do you get paid? I'm hoping to get a job soon with the CBP. Thanks in advance.

CVGolfer,

I also got hired by CBP as an AIA. I'm currently in the hiring pool waiting for an EOD and FLETC date. A lot of pilots, including myself, is upset becaue of how long it's taking to receive a duty location. I already have my BI completed and is ready to go. At this point the budget for FY2010 will be, to my understanding, signed by Dec. So, hopefully we will see some movement for January.

Anyway, a great website to visit is: APTAP.ORG
It gives updated info concerning your questions.

Take care,

Dutch

Dutch,
Thanks for the info. I just got the call the other day... I don't need to go to FLETC after all. I'll be flying UAV, which is not an AIA position. Congrat on your part. I'll be working on the southwestern border in Jan. Maybe I'll see you around.

Oh, very good! That's very interesting, your case is different. I'm glad things worked out for you. Nevertheless, all the best to you and hopefully we will some movement in the near future.
