Thanks all for the info. Nice to know the magnificent machine is still with us.

"ALL of the Heritage jets are drones."

Time for a silly question. They would be flown by pilots I assume, not remotely flown at airshows?

Zondracer,

What f-4's are t DM?

1. Yes, Shamu flies them (personally) at the airshows. The remote jets don't even take off from the main runways at Tyndall...they take off from the Drone runway (in case they crash).

2. The jets at DM are either:
a. Being flown to Mojave to be converted to Drones by BAE, or
b. Are passing through on their way to somewhere, say, a Mojave jet being flown to Tyndall or Eglin.

Is this privately owned? Who gets to fly it?

oicur -

I'll agree with you and UAL here on the Collings F-4 tailcode - FP (old paint job was with Richie's name on it OY = Oyster Flight)
The Collings Foundation operates the only privately owned F-4 flying.

UAL - owe you a beer - the Skyhawk IS actually a TA-4F, but has been converted into a TA-4J (but not really). Confused? Me too

Your opinion (eeerrr.....knowledge) doesn't count
I don't think so. They came up with a third alternate and 'Bert' coming down early next week.

Affirm. Decided it was easier to remain in place. Use the time to further my comfort level on the ground and with procedures. Everyone here has been GREAT! Awesome crowd you know down here.

Had the opportunity to show the tail - so no doubt now.
