Default A&P recommendation

I was active Army for 6 years. My MOS was 15R, Apache helicopter mechanic. I didn't think I will be getting my A&P ticket while I was in the Army, so I never bothered to get a recommendation letter. But now I'm a civilian, and been out of the Army for 3 years. How can I get a letter of recommendation from the Army? I was stationed at Fort Hood, TX BTW.

Thank you,

Tony

Do you know anyone that went Army Guard and is working on the UH-72's?

Those guys get sent to an A&P school down in SC.

not personally, but I know when I was in the MD national guard, they sent about 5 people to get their A&P, but they never got the UH-72. It's a OH-58 Kiowa unit

I believe the FAA will look at your DD214

This school has a prep course

FAA exams / FAA pilot exams. A&P exams, A&P school courses, A&P prep and more.

just wondering, while we are on the topic, if anyone can recommend a school that provides A+P training courses online?
i have found a few no name schools, and it doesnt seem that embry riddle has courses specifically for the A+P license (unless my research is bunk).

the coast guard has an A+P program for new aviation mechanics as soon as they report to their first duty station out of school, and ive got some good information on how their program goes, but its meant to be supplemented with schooling, and im trying to figure this stuff out as early as possible.

i may get lucky and get assigned to an airstation where there is a brick and morter school in the area that i can physically go to, but if i get sent to some obscure unit then i will have to depend on distance learning..........

thank you
chris

Not sure I understand why you need online A&P course. FAA requires 30 months provable(for A&P) hands on experience before can take 3 written exams and one oral exam.
Or a FAA approved on campus school( full time student)….usually 18 months, some 24 months.I've heard of a 12 month school...not sure.
Or 18 months provable hands on airframe experience to get only an “A” .Or 18 months provable hands on experience on powerplant to get only the “P”.
Several online companies’ sale test prep study materials to pass the written.

I did my IA there as well but he will need to take his DD214 to his local FAA FSDO to see what experience can be converted if they determine he has the required experience they will issue him (2) 8610-2 forms that he can take to Baker (if he chooses to go there) all they will do is prep you for the exam you can take your exam there and they have DME's designated mechanic examiners who are associated with the school and they will (for I believe) do the Oral Practical for 200 dollars CASH most charge 300 cash. It has been quite some time since I went to Baker but they are all good people.
