I started a thread on being a passenger airline pilot, so I thought I'd round it out by starting one on being a fighter pilot. :D Just as I am not an airline guy, I'm no fighter jock, so I guess I'm less than useless in listing even one trait.

off the top of my head...

you sing songs about a guy named Sammy Small,
hate Top Gun,
love targeting pod footage of LGB's hitting their mark...preferably with body parts flying,
hate stories about t/o and landings (unless something is on fire, and only then to get play at a bar),
love stories about setting our nation's enemies on fire,
actually look forward to months in the desert so you can have a chance to blow something up,
have beautiful daughters that God is using to punish you,
spent a lot of money on a Breitling because you actually like the damned thing,
frequently buy the first round and always buy a round when it's your turn,

if you have had a mustache in the month of March

If you fly fighters for a living.

If all of your CRM was between more than two cockpits instead of two seats.

If on time meant that stuff blew up.

If you hand flew from takeoff to touchdown and managed to kill a few people in between.

If you would rather die than look bad.

If you thought the difference between an S-2 and a hoover was the number of dirt bags.
