Default Super Neato!

I'm not usually an airplane super dork, but I saw something damn cool the other day and had to share.

We took off from SAN on our way up the coast to CMA and got routed out over the water a little further than usual since Obama was in LA.

We were level at 10,000 redlined in a our Citation X (which is 350 indicated and around 460 kts over the ground) when low and to the right I see either an F18 or 14 go streaking underneath us like we were standing still. It looked like he just took off from Miramar. The coolest part was when he climbed to within 1000 feet of our altitude just a few miles away and started rolling and goofing around. We think he was just showing us that we werent the fastest thing in the sky that day (a rare event).

I have no point other than that you military guys are damn lucky to get to fly that equipment. Thanks for keeping us safe!

It would have been a Hornet, probably USMC but it might have been Navy out of North Island. The 14's all went out to pasture a couple years ago.
