Valid point. That also requires a waiver, with a few stars signing it. We, unfortunately didn't have it. I'd flown a ton of combat sorties with this kid, and he was a great fit for us. Complete BS.

When I went thru UPT in 1999/2000 I had two class mates that were prior Navs on KC-135s that where 33 yrs old. One was a Major and the other was a Captain. There where three other Majors in UPT at Columbus at the same time, not sure what there ages where.
I also went thru Army IERW training in 2009 at 36 and I was not the oldest. There was a 39 year and a 40 year old. The only one that was active duty was the 39 year old. All the rest where in the Guard.

Age Waiver
I just spoke with a LTC in the Air National Guard who said that he's seen age waivers up to 34. Right now they are hard to come by, and most of those waivers are for those who have military experience. I'm commissioned in the ANG and am in the process of contacting several units in hopes of getting a slot. I'm 33, turning 34, so I have a small window; however, I have a BS in Aviation and several licenses/ratings so it's not completely out of the question. AF wants spring chickens in the cockpit.
