My two favorite C-5 loads:
1. 36 pallets of sailboat fuel. Good thing we weren't flying for profit! 2. 36 pallets of bubble wrap. No worries of falling off the ladder on that flight. |

1. 36 pallets of sailboat fuel. You mean gasoline or diesel fuel? I have done a lot of sailing in hulls with a boat motor but have never heard of "sailboat fuel". |

I always thoughts pallets of PALLETS was a silly load. The USN Spec Ops Mk5 boat was always interesting as was the propulsion units for subs.
Best one: The replica of the Vickers Vimy powered by two Chevy engines for the National Geographic! Weighed a whole 9,000# and cubed out the cargo floor. And the US Aerobatic team, KDOV to ETAR. GF |
As a relatively unbiased "Herk" guy I just don't think you can match the C-17s combination of strategic and tactical capabilities....although the "Fred" would be a cool ride too.
