Who are you? This is Lurch aka Godzira. Send me a PM. Buff reservist from 2000-2008. I'm flying 38's down here at Laughlin. I might be able to help. Send me a PM.

The Dover Reserves have openings, confirmed today. C-5M is the 709th; C-17 in the 326th.

Any former USAF pilots have recent experience joining ANG/AFRES after a break in service? I've been out for just under a year and I'm looking for advice. I have a few lines in the water for jobs and hope to have something secured in the next month. I expect ANG would be quicker to be gained than AFRES due to the AFRES scroll process. Anyone have recent timelines?

Scroll can take a while, but I know a guy that came back after an almost 8 year break in service.

Its been awhile for me as a SQ/DO, but less than 5 years, fairly easy. Find a unit hiring, present a package (resume, Form 5, FEF, etc.) and see if they bite. Experience in unit weapon system is a big bonus. High demand, low density system will likely get you the most money during a furlough and be the worst if working. As I posted earlier, C-5 at DOV is almost always hiring, but can’t say since they reduced the fleet.

After 5 years, there’s a requirement to run a mini-FEB, not adversarial, just a formal board to do the records review and an interview. That then has to be reviewed at approved at HHQ. Same process for USN or USMC, conversions. I think the legal term is Aeronautical Rating Board
