IP to work in UAE Air Force and Air Defense
Maybe some of you saw this job listing for the UAE. I didn't think I had a chance as though I just finished my career as a Goshawk IP, I'm not a strike/fighter type. I was the NETSAFA OIC in Whiting for all RSNF pilots but just a primary IP at the time. The recruiter told me to turn in my resume regardless and he would pass it on to their committee and somethin may have caught their eye as I have an interview on 24 June but I know nothing of this sort of job. Anybody know anyone or have experience? I've been to Abu Dhabi, great city relatively speaking. I have one buddy who was a helo IP for Puma's and Dolphins in Saudi for 11 years.

In the past, I have known quite a few pilots from my community go over to the UAE (and SA) to instruct on a contract basis.
They were usually for 2 year contracts I think. Really good pay - which is why they did it - an opportunity to build a nest egg quickly.
One had slightly higher pay but you had to pay for your own tickets back to the states for the 2 breaks you got during the year. The other paid for the ticket and it had multiple stops with it so you could visit multiple locations. It was compound living if I remember right but good accommodations. You'll find it a different world from instructing in the VTs but enough did it (and some kept at it) that it must not have been that bad of a deal.
Good luck and let us know what you find out.

hey bunk, I thought you were gonna do the regional thing?
We have a lot of folks in the USAF primary training circle (AFRC) doing the contract training thing in the T-6 overseas. It's not all that uncommon. It's an expat contract job like many others, though I suppose working in UAE is a lot safer than the Iraq thing they were doing.

The recruiter posted the above listing on jetcareers but other than that, don't know were to go to find it.

One of my prior SNCOs is now a corporate recruiter in the middle east. If you have F-15, C-130, or King Air experience PM me and will send you his direct email. They pay for families to come over as well and usually pay for all housing, car, gasoline, etc. Other perks (schools for the kids, etc) can either be included or added on to your salary depending on how you negotiate. Had a friend who figured he could do 5-7 years and then have plenty to retire on along with his mil retirement.
