AZFlyer, have you looked at the National Archives? I know some of the records were destroyed in a fire, but your Grandfather's records might be there. Good luck with your search.

You will have to have your Mom or Dad (depending on what side of the family your Grandfather is). They will not release the records to you. If I remember correctly it took a few months to receive the records.

Great pics AZFlyer. My old man flew for the other side (Royal Air Force, not the Luftwaffe). I wish he had kept his photographs, but he threw them out - said he didn't need reminders.
The aircraft looks very much like a 1941 Waco UPF-7, built here in Ohio by the Weaver Aircraft Company. I think they went out of business in 1947.
