Not angry for turds getting the boot for being turds.

I'm angry for us adopting the tactics of the NKVD and Stasi.

So what was Thomas, a rapist or drug dealer?

So either he played the part very well, or they hate him for being a snitch. Take your pick.

He's laid all his cards on the table. USAFA has yet to put out any real info (other than incorrect dates) to discredit Thomas.

I still have an open mind regarding whether Thomas deserved dismissal or not, but I think an objective assessment leans in his favor.

Regarding OSI tactics... If they want a man inside, use one of their own... Though I doubt he could handle passing as a cadet, even a dirtbag one. Janitor maybe, but not a cadet... :p

So far as I know he was neither. Which is why he isn't in any legal trouble. He got kicked out for disciplinary violations running the gamut from banal to damn near legendary.

I agree that USAFA has not made it's case, and I don't think it ever will. As far as I can tell, they never release details of why a cadet is booted if it's not a legal issue. Not sure if it's privacy act or what. Actually, I don't think they ever say someone was kicked out (again, minus legal cases). You leave with a transcript without a degree, and your discharge has a characterization with dictates whether you'll be able to serve in the military again. We're never going to see his records, so I don't think you'll get the satisfaction of a true objective assessment

I have yet to find anyone "hurt" by this that I can feel sympathy for. But, I feel as though I somehow made myself defender of this program, certainly wasn't my intent. So I'm bowing out of the discussion.

Spur--PM sent.

I was fortunate to work my way back into flight school, but after 20 yrs of service I can't legitimately make a case for keeping the school open. I met and worked with hundreds of fine officers that didn't attend. Honestly I'd be a fan of closing the whole school and put the savings in to new airframes.

I'm always surprised at hearing a number of USAFA grads (with good careers and post-USAF careers) I've worked with over the years says they think the school should be closed.

He was kicked out for misconduct which was actually part of his OSI effort.

Funny how USAFA waived his enlisted service commitment.

I can't believe this craziness. I had no idea this was all going on while I was there. Guess I was really boring as a cadet!
