Maybe a slight stretch, I am not there enough anymore to be totally in the loop, but I heard something recently about limiting the amount of shots or total quantity of drinks.

Drink effects - I was a Captain in UPT and thus assigned the dubious duty of class commander. Two 2/Lts came (crawled) out of the Reese AFB club one Friday night and were stopped by the Security Police. They were charged with "direct disobeying an order of the base commander - walking on the grass." Monday morning I reported to Col Dudley E. Fa***'s office and the two Lts were presented with Article 15 paperwork to sign. The Colonel asked me if I had any advice for the two officers that would prevent further occurrence and set an example for the base. I said - "Yes. I recommend they refuse to sign the Article 15s and request courts martial for walking on the grass." He kicked the three of us out of his office. It was a good thing the flight line instructors couldn't stand the HQ staff.

I must admit grass is hard to grow in Lubbock, TX.

He is not serious anymore. Most Oclubs are closed.

I can see it now, 15 years into the future.....

Two O-5 selects sitting around after the monthly sexual assault death by powerpoint mandatory training session remembering the days of annual SAPR training, then when they were O-3s, it went to quarterly training

Remembering the days when the O'Club had more than a two drink limit on UPT assignment drop nights.

Ahhh.....the good old days.

As I recall, we got pretty drunk at a kegger before we showed up at Drop Night, and we showed up with red bandannas tied around our heads, ala Deer Hunter, as we felt it would be a lot like playing Russian Roulette.:D

Great video - glad to see the AF is embracing the GoPro revolution.

And as someone who is between FlyBoyd and HuggyU2 on the UPT timeline, I am glad I am not around that nonsense any more. When I went through UPT the cops would escort any wayward drunk student to their Q room. Hell, we even showed up at the front gate drunk as hell after a night in Mexico and got a ride in the SP sixpack to the Qs.

Fast forward some years and I was back as an IP, and the cops were waiting outside the O club on drop night. As soon as someone backed up their car out of a parking space they jumped on them. Bull-****. That was a long time ago - I would hate to see what it is like now.

And yes - the LTs in that video WILL think of 2014 as "the good old days".

The Vance O'Club used to have (circa 1987) a gold fish tank near the entrance. One night as about 10 of us were leaving the club, we bet one of our classmates that he couldn't carry a goldfish in his mouth from the O'Club to the solo dunk tank on the flightline (and it had to still be alive when he spit it out in the tank). Without hesitation he scooped a fish into his mouth and off we went in a mad dash for the flightline (about 2 blocks IIRC).

We made it to the tank and watched as he spit the still alive fish into the tank. No sooner had our celebration of this fete began than so did the loud speakers and spot lights. It seems the SPs didn't find it so amusing (and they were just doing their jobs).

We all got to "assume the position" facing the wall of the squadron while the SPs woke up the DO (I think it was the DO). At any rate, I seem to remember he put on a good show in front of the SPs and then cut us loose after the SPs left. I think the DO thought it was pretty funny and harmless, but he kept his "game face" on the whole time. To my knowledge, no disciplinary action was taken against anyone, but the "fish delivery" man lived in infamy for many weeks after that incident :)
