F-15 jfs

If you had to wind-mill a motor in flight to provide hydro pressure to a PC or utility pump (talking double engine failure), how long can the JFS run at 100%? On the ground, it's 150 seconds.

Run it until you run out of altitude, get an engine running again, or pull the handles.

I ran the Secondary Power shop at Mt. Home. If I remember right, the time limit sounds right, but it's not the JFS that would fail, it's the CGB. The clutch and brake assembly in the CGB would overheat and melt. I've seen ALOT of CGB inlet housings melted and C&B assemblies seized because the starters were engaged too long.

Yeah 150 is it during ground ops. We could do 60 sec motors during ops checks engaging one or both sides. The -1 has a double engine failure statement about using the JFS to provide hydro by engaging a motor if the N1 <12%. Had a debate w/another Crew Chief...had to get proof and blow his argument apart. You know how we do (or how I used to do):p
