You obviously have no idea what the Navy is all about. Perhaps you should TRY to educate yourself before you comment on such topics.

Bottom line: irrespective of "whose airspace it is", the Russians do not respect us, nor our resolve to stand up to them. Not that I believe it warrants a shoot down... But Putin certainly knows how to make a statement... Especially after the Turkish embarrassment.
The two Russian pilots are yucking it up in their squadron bar and are not buying a single round. There is a gigantic 4' x 8' color glossy photo of the flyby picture plastered in their bar... in their Maintenance squadron,... in their Intel squadron.... and in the "I love me room" in the apartment that each pilot lives in.
They are laughing at us and calling us ****
I'd be doing the same thing if the role was reversed.

They actually do that, you just don't read about it in the media much. But we don't make aggressive simulated attacks when they visit. Not in this day and age. Fly-by look-see, perhaps.

Where the batpoop crazy people are. The russians you can sort of assume aren't actually going to shoot you or kamikaze...you cannot in good conscience make that assumption about certain other potential adversaries.

Nope, not really at all. This really isn't unexpected or unusual when you look at how our interactions have been with the Russians in recent history.
There was virtually no danger of those aircraft getting shot down by the ship. Foreign powers attempt to force overreactions from our crews all the time (aka charge the ships in an attempt to get it to shoot at them so the ship gets pulled from theater and were too ashamed politically to send a replacement). Is it annoying? Yes. Is it exciting? Yes but a lot of our training and qualifications these days goes into when to not shoot a guy, and these incidents were one of those times. Other countries do this to us all of the time because they know how restrained our reactions will be.
Makes good for CNN headlines though.

Disagree completely. We're not operating in a culture or environment to shoot down anything in that part of the world. Our ROE and risk aversion mindset will force that interaction to be one where we take the first blow, as sad as that is. FAC/FIAC is a classic example of that.
