RyanRC, do you have any FAA equivalency ratings? Instrument commercial? CFII? The more ratings the more points you may get on your apps.

I don't currently, but a helo guy who was a LtCol and did my Commanding General's Inspection while I was the ASO stated my NATOPS Instrument Instructor Qual would count as a CFII in the civilian world. I haven't had much time to research it as I've been supporting OIR until my last flight within the squadron which was yesterday. I plan on taking some serious time to delve into all of this over the next several weeks as I get a break from the FMF.

True: with your background, you should be able to get a CFII with your military experience... but not the CFI or MEI.

Not to hijack this thread, though since you mentioned it... Doesn't the US Army still let folks fly choppers with a High School diploma? (Warrant Officers)

Yes, starch wings too - even the ones that suck&blow and go kinda fast.
