Best way to get a college degree?
 

Hi.
Wanting to get a college degree and was wondering if anyone from experience has any advise on where to finish up a degree as quickly and inexpensively as possible. I was hoping to get some credit for all school and work experience that I have. Obviously I am looking for a real accredited degree. Anything better than Phoenix out there?

No recent; professional, 30-40 something college grads out here?

Be a little more specific... how much school do you already have? What type of degree are you looking for? I understand you want an inexpensive accredited degree of some type... Bachelor's or Master's?

I just finished up my MBA with Touro U and I'm a big fan of the program. Relatively painless distance learning degree at very low cost. If you want more details let me know.

I am finishing my degree and found that the fastest route from 0 to degree is about 3 years. If you're looking for all credits to transfer, life experience to count, etc. I haven't found all of that in a school yet. At least a school that can do it quick and as inexpensive as possible. Just search around and know it'll be a game of give and take.

I did a degree from Embry Riddle in '93. So much has changed, I won't qoute details as I'm sure it changed. Price was good and life experience credit helped.

Its a great place and all of it is online. Dont ever have to set foot in a class room. It would be perfect for pilots seeking degrees while on the road. Just sit in the hotel with the laptop and go to town. Classes arnt too hard either.

Thomas edison state college has a good degree completion program online.

get a scholarship and go for 4 years (assuming you don't have a bachelors yet). Best 4 years of your life!

If money is the issue, there are a TON of scholarship programs/ grants out there. You just need to do the research.

thanks for the info, I'll check those recommendations out. I don't have any college yet. Phoenix will allow you to get about 2 years of credit for life and work experience by testing and doing essay work/reports etc,,so i guess 2 years for a 4 year degree is not that bad. I think cost is fairly standard anymore for the accredited programs that have online courses.

Embry Riddle has online classes that are VERY affordable. They gave me credit for my flight training, although to get the full 36 hours, you need Private-Comm Multi.
