Default Paying for college

Hello,
I have a few questions about paying for my flight training. First off, I have just graduated from high school. I am planning to attend a local community college in the fall to take care of some of my basic classes. From there, I will transfer to the university where I will do my pilot training.
I was wondering if anyone knows of some good scholarships that I can apply for. My parents have agreed to help me with my schooling, but the university that i am planning on going to is a private, christian university; therefore, the tuition is going to be about tripple what it would be at a state funded college.
I already know of the scholoarships that Women in Aviation provide. Are there any other scholarships out there that would be worth looking into? I am a home schooler, so there will be some scholarships that I will not be able to apply for.
I tried filling out the FAFSA, and that got me nowhere. Does anyone know of other grants that I can apply for?
Also, if anyone knows of a good loan program that I can check into, I would appreciate your input.
Thanks for you time.

Well let me say congrats. 2006 whoop whoop! ya im 06 too so ya. Im heading off to FIT in the fall. as far as scholarships go, look for the LOCAL ONES. Most people dont apply for those, so the competition pool is reduced. I;ve got 15,000 in scholarships so yaya defintly look into it. As far as grants go, just wait for the school to give it to you. If you have the grades / financials, they usually give them out. In my case, I have them both. I'm not sure how good your parents credit is, but I went through Education Finance Partners. WHATEVER YOU DO, DONT GO THROUGH KEY LOANS!!! They are a rip!!!! Even their "preffered aviation loan partners", they suck really bad so dont go through there. Also, look for the best possible cosigner. That is essential!!! I used my grandparents, they had the top credit score among my relatives. If you have anymore questions, just post again. later
