It's not the floor mats, it's the A/C compressor calling for excess rpm increase. Shame on Toyota/NASA for missing this!

ROFL ! I wonder why those who encountered a problem did not shift into neutral?
Don't recall anyone ever asking this question during all the excitement.

Turning the key off would be an easy solution as the column can't lock with the vehicle (auto) in gear.

But if you solve the problem by shifting into neutral or killing the ignition it makes it much harder for your lawyer to argue your case.

I was really sick of hearing smug retards talk about the "quality" of their toyota verses other cars they have never owned/driven for a few years before this. Kinda funny how you don't hear that self important un-educated BS anymore.

"My Toyota is of higher quality because they won some award that I had never heard about and their commercial told me so."

With that being said, there is so much money involved in the auto industry that the politics are impossible to keep track of. Anybody who works in the industry would probably agree with me if I were to say that the auto industry makes D.C. look honest.

Possibly, however remember that most accidents are caused by a failure in the linkage between the steering wheel and the brake pedal.
