Default Tax Claims (Workout Stuff)

Does anybody know if you can claim your gym membership, athletic shoes/gear, etc. since we are required to stay in shape for our job (Class I Flight Physical)?

Pub 529 says no.
Health Spa Expenses

You cannot deduct health spa expenses, even if there is a job requirement to stay in excellent physical condition, such as might be required of a law enforcement officer.
