Default Wings Financial

Where I just started working, they offer us the option of direct deposit through Wings Financial. I know (now) they've been around for some years, but I'm wary of financial institutions I never heard of until last week.

Anyone who uses them for anything from banking to loans, what's been your experience?

I echo superpilots sentiments. I have been with them for a lot of years they used to be NWA federal credit union then NW tried to extort some money from them to continue to use the NW name so they said no thanks and changed their name to Wings Financial. The only complaint I had after the name change is they offered membership to anyone in the airline industry not just NWA employees so the lines at credit union became longer. But other than that they are great. I stayed with them even after I went to FX as people I knew who belonged to both FX credit union and Wings said Wings was better. All the loans I have ever got from them was easy and usually money in my account in a few hours. I would never use a regular bank again after being spoiled in the credit union.

I have been a member since '00 and the only bad thing I have to say about them is there is not a branch in the state I live in.

Been with them since '01 and stayed with them after the furlough a year later. No complaints at all - they gave me better rates on car loans than I could get elsewhere. I still use them for an "on the road" account - and they have NO fee for overseas ATM withdrawals, unlike my bank at home. Highly recommended!

wow, that's a lot more in the good reviews department than I was expecting! Even from those who've been there a while.
It's a shame they don't have any special loan for flight training... you'd think they would. I'll see how their student loan compares to other private student loans when I get back.

thanks for the input so far! Sounds like I'll be making the switch too.

Been with them for years. Great to deal with. Pentagon CU is another to look at. Great experience with both- rates slightly better with PenFed...
