Default tax deductions for training

I went through new hire training this year with a new airline.

1) Can I claim per diem deductions for the time during training (I was not assigned a domicile until partway through training and we don't have domiciles where training is taking place)

2) I drove to training so that I would have a car available to me. (Positive space travel from my home was not provided, except for day 1). Can I deduct mileage?

What about 737 Type Rating training? Not required to perform the FO duties for which I was hired to perform but required by the airline to be hired as an FO. Tax deducible? I just want to do the right thing without short changing myself. Confusing.
