Fodder for endless speculation and argument.

I would start with the observation that the minimum wage raise (ca. 2007) penalizes inexperienced workers who are willing to exchange their cheap labor for training and experience.

Interesting graph and it begs the question as to how does one go about getting experience if they cannot get hired in order to get said experience.
More boomers are staying where they are instead of retiring and that also is a considerable factor.
