Probation is what it is, no access to grieve discipline. If there was anything the Stewards at NJASAP could have done they did it. They probably talked the company into a resignation as opposed to a termination. Semantics I know, but I would rather explain a resignation on a job interview than a termination.

Weren't you just complaining that the union works to save everyone, including those that shouldn't be in the cockpit?

I agree. Resignation is far better than termination.

Hey Guard - stay positive. Plenty of airlines hiring right now and your military and Netjets experience should be appreciated. I just read that 68% of American’s pilots will be retiring within the next 12 years and Delta will have similar big retirements. Plus, it seems like Spirit, SWA and JB are big fans of Netjets pilots recently.

That sucks. It will hopefully be for the better after you get on with a good airline. Good luck. The new "friendly" management facade can't be trusted at all. They are friendly overall because it is in their best interests now. That said, a tiger can't hide it's stripes forever and I guess they are back to stabbing backs when they don't think anyone is looking. The IBI18 was a nice boost, and there have been a lot of nice ad ons since then. Those ad ons are policy only and can/ will be taken back as soon as they decide hard ball is more fun.

They probably didn't take his money (I didn't pay dues till I got of probation, not at NK, still ALPA)

This happened to me. In my first 10 months I had 2 sick calls.
I spoke with my fleet manager both times and got doctor notes which I sent in.
One was a sinus infection and the other I caught a stomach bug.
Neither event did I miss the entire tour.
I got a call saying that "I have not completed the requirements of my probation".
NJ would give me no other information and the union said that they could do nothing as I was still on probation.
My choice was resign or get booted.

I NEVER had a single training issue nor any other problem.

All I can say is... Beware!

This is definitely not Richard Santulli’s Netjets anymore.

That seriously SUCKS! I hope you find a better 121 job ASAP! Again, SWA, Spirit (just ordered 100 more Airbuses) and JB seem to like NetJets pilots recently. Good luck!

Wow - sorry to hear that. Clearly the market is still strong for hiring. Again, JB, SWA and Spirit appear to be frequent destinations for NJA folks lately on the 121 side and other fractionals are growing too if you want to stay in this business... I’d go 121 if I were in your situation.

This Guard dude wrote “Majors are for the brainless, glorified bus drivers” while talking about how awesome his Netjets job is.

Sounds like he’d be a better fit at Ameriflight.
