That’s good info! It definitely seems to have not been as phenom heavy in the past few months.

Probably to leave room for XLS and perhaps Sovereign displacements in the training pipeline. I believe they recently announced 25 XLSs going away next year.

That is my surmise as well.

BooBoo playing his leverage game again.

One must just hope that this is one straw too many for some that may have been fine not rocking the boat when negotiations are afoot. Just making it as painful as possible to try to control the seat lock is just such a d-bag move. I hope everyone just allows the displacement to the 300 and then then takes another bid when the airplane they want is available, preferably either before the checkride to straight up burn the training slot, or shortly after IOE to burn another couple of months of usefulness.

Pilots have been saying they plan to play the no seatlock displacement game for a long time. The company is playing defense in the same game. A simpiler solution is for the pilot to unterstand the fleet is done and bid a fleet they truely want and not play the game. Most of those XL captains have been in that fleet so long they forgot being in the training pipeline sucks. Doing it twice is unbelievablely miserable for work and home life. I've been displaced 3 times because I was in a shrinking fleet, too junior, and to tall to hold a non shrinking fleet. Displayments suck. You lose control of your schedule for months. Just bid what you want in the open bids and be done with the drama. Or admit you're playing a game of chicken and have a 50/50 chance of losing.

I can agree that if they have the seniority to hold something that they want and it is offered between now and displacement, they should probably take it and the lock, unless they would lose large cabin pay like at least one would. If what they want, that they can hold, isn't offered, I think they should wait. The Chief put out an estimate for how many positions would be offered for each fleet and seat for the rest of this year and for next year so they should have a reasonable idea if they will be able to get what they want in a reasonable amount of time. I am not effected by the displacement, but I have spent the last nearly 18 years waiting for what I want. It took 10 years to get the first one I wanted and then 7 more for the next one on my list. Now I'm patiently waiting for the next one. I can afford to wait to fly what I want and I would suggest that for anyone that can afford it. Training multiple times is not ideal, but it isn't hard of you give even a little bit of effort with the way FS and CAE spoon feed us. The company deserves to eat 2 training events, likely close together, if they are going to play games and not offer more choices for displacements. They should offer what your seniority can hold if they are going to have the slots in the next 6 months.
