I have about 1000 hours in the 604/605/650. I don't miss that thing at all. Pax love the cabin and the cockpit is comfortable. Those are about the only redeeming qualities of the airplane. At least it prepared me for crossing the country in the low 30's like I do now.

Not exactly correct I average about 25-30 hours a tour.
The 650 is very flow heavy and you're basically the automation for everything. I've seen a big curve in pilots coming into the plane never having flown a plane at NJA. Attitude is judged as much as everything else on IOE. |

I’m one of the new hires going straight into the 650. Lucky for me though I have about 600 hours in a CL604. Are you averaging 25-30 over a 7 day tour or are you on the 8/6 or extending?
I would forget everything you ever remembered from the 604 so you do it our way. |

Other, more capable airplanes routinely get above the weather. It was a pretty good airplane for its day after they ditched the Lycoming and hung the GE on it. These days, it's a dinosaur with a terrible wing no matter how much lipstick they put on it. Like you say, it is what it is.
But deviating adds to that FDP lol. |
